When I first started creating in front of the camera, I really wanted to set myself free from the expectations of my family and constricting life. It was the only way that I could seperate from the burden of being the elder sister everyone needed, the mother that I had to step into the role of being. In front of the camera, with my second hand clothes and stolen makeup, I could be someone confident, daring, stylish and bold.
For years, this is the reason I have created. As a result, I have truly become to built a version of Branidii that is able to save the little kid inside of that desperately wanted more. I create boldly, exploring nudity and the ways the body can twist itself into obscure shapes. I am animalistic, climbing trees, throwing myself into swampy waters, covering myself in thick coats of sickly sweet blood. I am blooming. I learn more and more each time I take a look at nature around me, take a look of the people I have worked with so far that inspire me in all the ways flowers take their time to bloom and people can be so different it opens my eyes to all the ways of living, seeing.
Though, despite the changes since 14 years old, there is something that still remains. My insistent need to make every series emotional. Sentimental. A reflection of my body, my sexuality, my childhood home, my mental self. And to always always ALWAYS, write about it. Even if it doesn't always makes sense.
So, welcome to my feral world. Feral in the way the themes can be like looking into the insides of my mouth and seeing my teeth bared. Or feral in the way that my writing is a mess, untamed and all over the place, but just the way I like it. Or feral, like my unfiltered self portraits, capturing the raw sides of my skin, my outstretched legs, fierce stare all done in the unkept room of my home. Feral like I am untamed, undomesticated, wild and free. All the good and great things I have fought through blood and flesh to be.
Welcome to my world.
Branidii.
